Aquis Segeste, Roman archaeological site in Sceaux-du-Gâtinais, France.
The archaeological remains spread across 25 hectares contain thermal baths, a sanctuary, and a theater capable of holding 13,000 spectators at once.
The site developed from a Gaulish place of worship and reached its peak during the second century before declining in the late fourth century.
Numerous artifacts and ex-votos discovered at the sacred basin called nymphée demonstrate the spiritual practices focused on fertility and healing rituals.
The archaeological site provides guided tours throughout the year, with multilingual options available for both individual visitors and organized groups.
Two significant Merovingian cemeteries found within the site confirm continuous human presence in the area after the Roman period ended.
