Château de Carheil, Historical castle in Plessé, France.
The castle features Louis XIII architectural style with two double pavilions and a grand central living area designed by architect Gilles Corbineau.
The construction of the castle extended from 1659 to 1668, directed by contractor Pierre Poirier following Corbineau's plans for the Cambout de Coislin family.
The remaining chapel contains stained glass windows created by the Sèvres manufactory, following designs by artist Ingres, representing regional artistic excellence.
The castle remains private property, with only the chapel accessible during specific heritage days and cultural events throughout the year.
In January 1945, a fire destroyed the castle completely, leaving only the chapel standing as the final architectural testament of this historical residence.
