Château de Castelmore, Medieval castle in Lupiac, France

The Château de Castelmore features one story with a narrow facade, flanked by two square towers and complemented by round towers at north and south positions.

The castle gained recognition as the birthplace of Charles de Batz de Castelmore, who later became Lieutenant d'Artagnan of the First Company of the King's Musketeers.

The property represents a connection between French military history and literature, as d'Artagnan became the central character in Alexandre Dumas' Three Musketeers novels.

The castle spans 700 square meters and includes 155 hectares of surrounding land, with parks, forests, and agricultural fields available for exploration.

In 2024, Auchan Retail CEO Yves Claude purchased the castle for 2 million euros with plans to restore and open sections to the public.
