Château de Maÿtie, Renaissance castle in Mauléon-Licharre, France.

The castle features a rectangular structure with three square towers, mullioned windows, pediments, mascarons, and a carved stone balcony at its facade.

Pierre de Maytie, from a family that produced three bishops of Oloron, commissioned the construction of this castle at the end of the 16th century.

The interior contains a bishop's room on the first floor with carved Baroque fireplaces displaying a medallion representing Bishop Arnaud de Maytie.

The castle opens its doors to visitors from July through September, with access available at 1 rue du Jeu-de-Paume in Mauléon-Licharre.

In 1661, a revolt led by priest Matalas resulted in the destruction of one tower, which remains absent from the original four-tower configuration.
