Château de Mercy, Neoclassical château in Ars-Laquenexy, France

The Château de Mercy stands in Savonnières limestone, featuring classical architectural elements and grand proportions across its main building and adjacent chapel.

Maurice du Coëtlosquet commissioned the construction of this château between 1905 and 1908, replacing an earlier structure destroyed during conflicts in 1870.

The château represents French architectural resistance during the German annexation of Moselle, incorporating designs by École de Nancy artist Eugène Vallin.

The property, currently under renovation, will transform into residential apartments and commercial spaces while maintaining its protected historical status.

During World War II, the château served as a German military hospital before becoming a command post for the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1953 to 1966.
