Château de Montby, Medieval castle in Gondenans-Montby, France
The stone fortress stands on elevated ground, featuring circular towers, embossed stones, and facades from different construction periods spanning the 16th to 18th centuries.
First documented in the 14th century, the castle endured multiple sieges and devastation in 1351, 1475, 1543, and 1637, leading to subsequent reconstructions and modifications.
The Friends of Château de Montby Association, established in 2008, organizes medieval festivals and educational workshops to preserve and promote regional heritage.
