Built between the 11th and 12th centuries, the castle passed through several noble families including the Montcornets, the Croÿs, and the Gonzagues until 1766.
The castle serves as a center for medieval craftsmanship exhibitions and historical reenactments, preserving local heritage through educational programs.
Visitors can explore the castle from April to September, with daily tours from 2 PM to 6 PM except Mondays during July and August.
The fortress architecture demonstrates the transition between medieval and Renaissance military engineering, with specific adaptations for early artillery defense.
