Château de la Voulte-sur-Rhône

The castle stands on a rock formation overlooking the Rhône Valley and the entrance to the Eyrieux Valley, featuring Gothic and Renaissance architectural elements.

Built between the 14th and 17th centuries, the castle belonged to the House of Anduze and later to the Lévis de Ventadour family who served French royalty.

The Chapel of the Princes, constructed in 1487, contains the remains of La Voulte lords and displays preserved Renaissance and Mannerist decorative elements.

The municipality has owned the castle since 1962, and visitors can explore the old town through narrow streets following a guided historical route.

The castle served as a toll station on the Rhône River and sustained damage during World War II, leading to significant structural modifications.
