The Château des Montalets stands at 19 Anatole-France Boulevard, featuring brick and stone construction with a walled park surrounding the main building.
Built in the late 19th century by François Bouret, the estate was later acquired by the PTT mutual fund to establish an orphanage for postal workers' children.
The name Montalets originated from a spelling variation of the Montalais domain, documented in the 1816 cadastral plan of Meudon.
The property spans 1,350 square meters, with 930 square meters for the main castle, 350 for outbuildings, and 70 for the gardener's house.
The castle sits above former quarries, which later complicated development plans when the city of Meudon considered converting it into a school.
