Château des Monthairons

The Château des Monthairons is a neoclassical mansion built between 1857 and 1859 that now operates as a guesthouse with dining facilities. The structure contains multiple rooms and a restaurant space for visitors.

During World War I, the castle served as a military hospital for American soldiers. The French composer Maurice Ravel worked here in 1916.

Each room features its own decoration with themes like Meuse Valley and floral designs, showing how the place weaves local heritage into its rooms. This approach connects visitors to the region's character through thoughtful details.

The castle is about 13 kilometers from Verdun and is easily accessible by car. The property offers rooms to stay, a restaurant, and has charging stations for electric vehicles.

The estate sits within a larger park that contains a 16th-century chapel now used as a hermitage. Each spring, herons return to nest in the trees throughout the grounds.
