The structure displays classic Renaissance architecture with its symmetrical layout and stone facades.

The buildings were constructed in the 16th century as a display of wealth and power by the local nobility. The estate gained literary prominence when French poet Alfred de Vigny inherited and resided there from 1850 to 1853, producing significant works during his time.

The writer Alfred de Vigny composed several literary works in a small room at the top of the spiral staircase tower. Today, visitors can sense the connection between this space and the intellectual life that unfolded here.
