Manoir de l'Automobile

Manoir de l'Automobile is an automobile museum in Lohéac that houses more than 400 vehicles displayed across extensive exhibition halls, representing different periods and vehicle types. The collection covers a broad range of cars from various eras and categories, all arranged within the manor's interior spaces.

The museum opened in 1988 within a 17th-century manor house that had previously been a farmhouse. This historical building was transformed to become a major center for preserving and showcasing automobile history.

The museum displays reconstructed traditional shops with period-dressed figures and thousands of everyday objects from different eras. These recreations show how people lived and used cars at different times in history.

The museum can be visited on weekdays and weekends with opening hours covering morning and afternoon sessions. It is advisable to allow enough time to explore the large collection at a comfortable pace.

The museum houses a collection of racing cars including Formula 1 starting grid vehicles and Group B rally cars. Visitors can also see automobiles that were featured in well-known films such as the Taxi movie series.
