Les Mercuriales

Les Mercuriales consists of two matching towers named Levant and Ponant, each rising 122 meters with 33 floors, located in the eastern Paris region. The buildings feature a central core with elevators and offer modular office spaces that adapt to different working arrangements.

The towers were built in 1975 to establish business districts in eastern Paris and strengthen economic development in the region. The project was affected by the first oil crisis, yet it represented an ambitious period of urban expansion.

The twin towers became a landmark for suburban transformation in the Paris region and represented economic growth moving eastward from the city center. Their profile remains a defining feature of Bagnolet's skyline today.

The towers are best seen during daytime when their structure and surrounding development are clearly visible. Since these are office buildings, interior access is typically restricted to workers and business visitors.

Radio transmitters sit atop both towers and broadcast signals across the wider metropolitan area. This technical function often goes unnoticed by visitors observing the buildings from ground level.
