Église Sainte-Croix-des-Pelletiers

Église Sainte-Croix-des-Pelletiers is a Gothic church in Rouen featuring a 15th-century nave and a 16th-century choir. The building displays detailed Gothic architectural elements throughout, reflecting its different construction periods.

The church was built on the site of a 10th-century chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. In 1492, it received its first parish priest, Gilles de Brevedent, marking the beginning of a new phase.

The name comes from the furriers and fur merchants whose workshops filled this neighborhood during medieval times. These traders left their mark on the district and gave the building its lasting identity.

The building is located on Rue Sainte-Croix-des-Pelletiers and now serves as a venue for concerts and conferences. Visitors should check ahead to see if the building is open for visits, as it hosts various events regularly.

Following a 2019 competition, the building was transformed into a food market with coworking and residential spaces called Bek'Miettes. This new use shows how historic churches are being adapted for contemporary purposes.
