Château de Remaisnil

Château de Remaisnil is a Rococo castle built with a central structure on two levels, flanked by two projecting pavilions constructed of brick and stone. The entire property sits within extensive parkland that includes gardens and period features.

The castle was built in 1760 on the site of a former medieval fortification. It remained in the hands of the Butler family across several generations.

The interior features Louis XVI woodwork in two salons, with the central room decorated in Louis XV stucco style and an ornate iron staircase. These furnishings reflect French elegance from the 1700s.

The castle sits within roughly 40 hectares of parkland featuring gardens, tennis courts, and a swimming pool. The location is used for events and provides overnight accommodation options.

During World War II, German forces built a launch site for V-1 flying bombs on the parkland. Concrete foundations from this installation remain visible across the grounds today.
