Centre minier de Faymoreau

The Faymoreau Mining Center presents extensive exhibitions about coal mining through artifacts, documents, and original equipment in seven thematic sections.

Opening its doors in September 2000, the museum underwent substantial renovations between 2016 and 2018, expanding its exhibition spaces to four times their original size.

The museum received the prestigious 'Musée de France' designation in 2003, recognizing its commitment to preserving and presenting regional mining heritage.

Visitors can explore the museum from Monday to Saturday between 10:00 and 13:00 and from 14:00 to 19:00, with admission fees of 7.50 euros for adults.

The site features stained glass windows created by artist Carmelo Zagari in the chapel, depicting the lives and experiences of the local mining community.
