Château de Dampierre

Château de Dampierre is a stone manor house in France's Aube region, built with Mansard roofs and distinctive dormer windows. The stonework and architectural details follow the classical proportions that were typical of French noble architecture from that era.

The building has existed since around the 10th century, when it was founded under Hildeven. By the 16th century, Louis Picot gained control of it, bringing the structure under new management and direction.

The château shows a mix of Renaissance design where Italian influences meet French building traditions. The rooms reflect how French nobility lived, something visitors can see in the decorations and room layouts today.

The château is located in the Aube region and opens to visitors during specific months. Musical events happen throughout the season, making it worth planning your visit around these dates.

The entrance gate is an ornate wrought iron work from the School of Nancy style. This craftsmanship quality matches what you can see at the Town Hall of Troyes.
