Chalets de Napoléon III

The Napoleon III chalets are a group of buildings featuring Swiss and colonial architectural elements, distinguished by wooden galleries and ornate balconies. Each chalet was equipped with reception spaces for roughly fifty guests, fitted meeting rooms, and luxurious bedrooms to accommodate visitors throughout the year.

Between 1863 and 1864, six chalets were constructed under the supervision of Napoleon III, intended to serve as private residences during his spa treatments. These buildings emerged during a period when Vichy was developing into a major spa destination for the upper classes.

Chalet Marie-Louise displays a distinctive pattern of ochre and yellow bricks arranged in a checkerboard style, combined with light wooden details in its ornaments.

The chalets are located on Boulevard des États-Unis and remain accessible year-round for visitors wishing to explore their spaces. Visitors should keep in mind that these buildings are historically protected, so certain access rules may apply.
