Château de Castille, Historical castle in Argilliers, France

The limestone structure stands in a 2-hectare park with stone ornaments, fountains, columns, and French gardens near the medieval town of Uzès.

The castle underwent major renovations in 1785 when Baron de Castille added corner towers, colonnades, and balustrades following his decade of European travels.

Douglas Cooper, an art historian and Picasso's friend, acquired the castle in 1950 and commissioned large frescoes from the Spanish artist.

The castle contains 20 rooms across 800 square meters, including reception halls, a library, multiple bathrooms, and a dining room for formal occasions.

The property features seven fan-shaped garden paths and numerous decorative structures, earning it the nickname Palace of a Thousand Columns.
