Château du Piple, Historical castle in Boissy-Saint-Léger, France.

Château du Piple is a castle set within a 3.5-hectare park surrounded by forests, featuring imposing façades and well-preserved ground-floor rooms. The grounds also include a former farmhouse and orangery building alongside the main structure.

The castle was owned by Charles Louis Schulmeister, a spy for Napoleon Bonaparte, from 1812 to 1814 and later sold in 1819 to Swiss banker Jean-Conrad Hottinguer. This connection to notable historical figures shaped its development during the early 1800s.

The castle reflects 19th century French residential design with fine interior craftsmanship visible in its woodwork and decoration. These details show the taste and lifestyle of the wealthy families who lived here.

The site is accessible via Allée de la Pompadour and now consists of private apartments housed in the former residential and utility buildings. Visitors should note that the grounds are privately owned and cannot be freely entered.

A fountain named Saint-Babolien from the 18th century remains on the property. This historical feature was one reason the estate received official protection as a cultural monument.
