Halle de Saint-Lys

The oval-shaped neoclassical structure spans 26 meters in length and 22 meters in width, featuring twenty arcades with semicircular arches in pink brick.

The market hall, designed by architect Edmond Chambert between 1842 and 1846, incorporated experimental metal framework techniques that sparked a decade-long legal dispute.

The central location at Place Nationale establishes the hall as a primary venue for regional markets and community gatherings in the Haute-Garonne department.

Following extensive restoration in 2014, the building received protection status and maintains regular operations under the management of Saint-Lys City Hall.

Two distinctive central arches set within triangular pediments differentiate themselves from the surrounding eighteen arcades, creating the main compositional axis of the structure.
