Hôtel Fieubet, Baroque revival private mansion in Marais district, Paris, France

The Hôtel Fieubet is a private mansion built in baroque revival style, located between rue Saint-Antoine and the Seine. Its facades feature ornate stone carvings and architectural details that showcase the elegance of 17th-century noble architecture.

Jules Hardouin-Mansart designed and built this mansion between 1676 and 1681 for Gaspard III de Fieubet. The building was adapted as a sugar refinery during the 1850s before becoming a school in 1877.

The building transformed from a noble residence to a sugar refinery in 1850 before becoming the prestigious École Massillon in 1877.

The building sits directly on quai des Célestins and is easily visible from the street. Today it operates as a private school, so viewing the interior is not typically available, but the exterior architecture can be appreciated from the public walkway.

The entrance gate is flanked by stone sphinxes, an unusual choice for a Parisian private home of this era. These mysterious figures reveal the owner's interest in ancient and exotic themes during the late 1600s.
