Romuald’s Cave

The cave extends into the eastern slopes of Lim Channel at 106 meters above sea level, featuring multiple chambers with rock formations and paintings.

Archaeological excavations revealed stone tools from 40,000 years ago, along with remains of extinct animals including cave bears and red deer.

The cave contains 44 red pigment paintings divided across four panels, representing some of the earliest cave art discovered in Southeast Europe.

Visitors need to arrange guided tours in advance to access the cave, which includes a short walk from the designated parking area.

Scientists found evidence of continuous human presence spanning from the Paleolithic period through the Bronze Age within the cave's sediment layers.
