Vrbanj, Settlement in Stari Grad, Croatia.

Vrbanj is a small settlement in the center of Hvar Island, situated in an agricultural zone with vineyards and olive groves. The village has a simple layout with a church at its heart and houses arranged around communal spaces.

The area was inhabited during Roman times, as shown by preserved oil presses and remnants of a villa still visible today. These remains indicate that agriculture has shaped life here for thousands of years.

The Church of the Holy Spirit shapes the village center with its Baroque artworks and silver religious objects created by local craftspeople. This religious building stands at the heart of community life and reflects the island's artistic heritage.

The village has basic services including local shops, cafes, and a post office that are easily accessible daily. You can walk through the settlement and explore the surrounding countryside without any special equipment or planning.

A local vintner named Plančić runs a wine tasting center in the village where visitors can sample wines made from traditional regional grape varieties. This operation demonstrates how winemaking remains active in the region and connects travelers with local production.
