Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland, Islamic complex in Clonskeagh, Ireland

The Islamic Cultural Centre of Ireland is a complex in Clonskeagh with nine smaller squares surrounding a central area, featuring a mosque built from steel and brick. The centre contains a main prayer hall, restaurant, library, meeting rooms, mortuary facilities, administrative offices, a shop, and areas for youth activities.

Construction began in 1994 and the centre opened in 1996, marked by a ceremony with Mary Robinson and Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum. The Al-Maktoum Foundation from Dubai has funded and shaped this facility since its creation.

A Muslim National School operates here, educating over 260 students with Islamic teachings woven into lessons. The school shapes daily life at this location and shows how education is connected to faith.

The site houses multiple facilities within the same grounds, making it possible to experience several activities in one visit. It helps to allow enough time to explore the different areas properly.

The centre once hosted the International Association of Muslim Scholars before it relocated to Qatar. This earlier role shows how the place served as a significant forum for Islamic scholarship.
