Palwal district, Administrative district in Haryana, India
Palwal district is an administrative division in Haryana, India, situated between the Yamuna River and the Aravalli mountain range. The area spans three subdivisions and comprises around 282 villages across 135,782 hectares of land.
The district received its administrative status on August 15, 2008, becoming the twenty-first district of Haryana state. This establishment divided a previously larger administrative territory into separate jurisdictions.
The district headquarters is home to the Gandhi Seva Ashram museum near the railway station, preserving photographs and objects from India's independence movement.
For administrative matters, visitors can access Atal Seva Kendra centers, which provide services such as certificate issuance, voter registration, and employment exchange registration. These centers are located at various points throughout the district and serve both residents and visitors.
The district runs specialized forest programs that distribute eucalyptus, shisham, and neem saplings to the local population to increase regional forest coverage. These initiatives reveal local efforts in environmental stewardship and improving natural resources.
