Hanging Gardens of Mumbai, Terraced gardens in Mumbai
The Hanging Gardens of Mumbai, also known as Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens, are terraced gardens perched at the top of Malabar Hill.
These gardens were built in 1881 over Bombay's main reservoir to protect the water from contamination.
The gardens feature numerous hedges carved into the shapes of animals, providing a unique cultural touch.
Open daily from 5 AM to 9 PM, they offer a panoramic view of the city and the sunset over the Arabian Sea.
The garden is home to a 'shoe house' that children can climb into.
