Gertrusk

The Gertrusk summit rises to 2,044 meters above sea level in the Lavanttal Alps, offering views across the Görtschitztal and Lavanttal valleys.

The local hiking path includes a stop at the Iron Cross, installed at 1,958 meters elevation in 1906 by Archduke Ferdinand and Sophie.

The mountain forms part of the Saualpe region, which maintains traditional Alpine activities through marked hiking trails and winter sports routes.

The journey starts at Weißbergerhütte at 1,607 meters, covering 5.3 kilometers with a 438-meter elevation gain during a 2-hour-40-minute ascent.

The summit ranks as the tenth highest peak among 274 mountains in the Sankt Veit an der Glan district, with a prominence of 46 meters.
