Schloss Schwarzenegg, Renaissance castle in Wildon, Austria.
The two-story main building of Schloss Schwarzenegg features Renaissance-style window shutters, simple portals, and a three-level columned arcade on the south wing.
The structure evolved from a medieval farmhouse named Schwarzhof when Kaspar Herberstorffer purchased and transformed it into a noble residence in the late 16th century.
The castle includes a chapel dedicated to the Visitation of Mary and displays a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dated 1739 at its driveway entrance.
Located at the foot of Wildoner Schlossberg, the castle stands in a park setting and includes modern facilities such as a riding hall within its grounds.
During World War II, the castle served as storage space for the inventory of the Graz Armory, marking a departure from its residential purpose.
