Kloster Maria Luggau, Servite monastery in Lesachtal, Austria.
Kloster Maria Luggau is a Servite monastery located in the Lesachtal valley in Carinthia. The three-story complex encloses a rectangular courtyard, with terraced gardens on its southern side.
The monastery was founded by Franciscans in 1591 and transferred to the Servite order in 1635. Following a fire, it was rebuilt between 1640 and 1661.
The monastery serves as a place of prayer and devotion where visitors can attend services or sit quietly in reflection. The chapel draws people seeking spiritual connection and a space to express their personal intentions.
The site is accessible on foot from the valley and offers parking for visitors. Wearing comfortable shoes is recommended since the grounds slope upward.
The western entrance displays a rustic portal with a coat of arms and two obelisks. Inside, ornate stucco ceilings and oil paintings give the rooms an artfully decorated appearance.
