The monastery originated in 1878 when Dominican Sisters relocated from Freiburg to Lauterach, before settling in Villa Raczyński, Bregenz, in 1904.
Dominican Sisters at Kloster Marienberg continue the educational tradition through their schools while maintaining the principles established by Saint Dominic.
The monastery complex includes the main villa, connected buildings, and a landscape park on the northwest slope of Gebhardsberg in Bregenz.
The site combines an 1875 villa, designed by Stefan Tragl, with an 1880 casino building featuring billiard rooms and bowling alleys.
