Wallfahrtskirche Maria Rast, Pilgrimage church in Hainzenberg, Austria.
The Maria Rast church stands on elevated ground, featuring a Rococo high altar with a statue of the Virgin Mary and the infant Jesus.
Built in 1739 after replacing a wooden chapel from 1659, the church required substantial repairs following a rock slide that damaged its tower in 1914.
The church celebrates its patronage feast on July 2nd, marking the Visitation of Mary with ceremonies that draw numerous pilgrims to the site.
Visitors can reach the church through a forest path from Zell am Ziller, which includes 14 Stations of the Cross along the walking route.
A small grotto constructed by miners in 1870 stands along the path to the church, connecting to the area's mining heritage.
