Pfarrkirche hl. Magdalena, Mönchhof

The church stands on elevated ground in Mönchhof, featuring a baroque tower with an onion dome and wide sanctuary with straight-walled apse.

After the original church from 1240 was destroyed during the Turkish War in 1683, master builder Karl Moispointner constructed the new baroque building between 1729 and 1734.

The main altar, created by Elias Hügel in 1739, displays a painting of the Penitent Magdalene by Martino Altomonte and sculptures by Giovanni Giuliani.

The church maintains regular religious services and offers guided tours, with Father Meinrad Tomann OCist serving as the current parish priest.

The northwest facade displays the coat of arms of Heiligenkreuz Abbey in stucco work, while the keystone window bears the year 1734.
