Schloss Melans, Protected heritage mansion in Absam, Austria.
The two-story Ansitz Melans features a square layout with five window axes on each side and a hip roof covering the structure.
First mentioned around 1300 as a fief of Hochstift Augsburg, the mansion experienced destruction by Bavarian troops in 1413 and an earthquake in 1689.
The chapel, consecrated in 1516, contains a star-vaulted ceiling and received neo-Gothic modifications during the 1890 renovation period.
The mansion stands at 677 meters above sea level, with coordinates 47.298354° latitude and 11.509433° longitude in the Innsbruck-Land district.
A nineteenth-century neo-Gothic arcade runs along the northeast side, supported by pillars below and columns above with tracery frieze balustrades.
