The building dates back to the 17th century, incorporating remnants of a Roman watchtower and featuring a preserved medieval window from before 1500 in its courtyard.

The small hall within Fuhrmannhaus contains late 17th-century frescoes and functions as a venue for classical concerts, readings, and art exhibitions throughout the year.

The Fuhrmannhaus operates as a traditional Viennese wine tavern, offering regional wines from Thermenregion alongside cold and warm dishes from the Heurigen buffet.

The building received its name from Franz Xaver Fuhrmann, who purchased it in 1840 and established a wagon company, marking the beginning of the Fuhrmann family ownership.
