Pfarrkirche Heilig Kreuz, Parish church in Going am Wilden Kaiser, Austria.
Pfarrkirche Heilig Kreuz is a baroque parish church located at the southern edge of Going am Wilden Kaiser village. The structure features a square central space flanked by two narrow rectangular side bays and a rounded choir section.
A church was first documented at this location in 1390, but the current baroque structure was built between 1774 and 1775 following architect Andreas Hueber's designs. This 18th-century rebuild gave it its present form.
The interior vault paintings by Matthias Kirchner depict the Last Judgment and Crucifixion scenes across the walls. A Crucifixion painting from around 1700 dominates the high altar, drawing the eye as you enter.
The church sits on Kirchplatz at the southern village edge and welcomes visitors. An adjacent cemetery holds historical graves and a small niche chapel alongside the main building.
The north facade displays a striking triangular gable with three niches housing a Holy Cross reliquary and statues of Saints Peter and Paul. This facade arrangement creates a memorable visual accent on the building's exterior.
