Les Boules, Administrative sector in Métis-sur-Mer, Canada.
Les Boules is an administrative sector along the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, located roughly 370 kilometers northeast of Quebec City and 330 kilometers west of Gaspé. The area stretches along a coastline with sandy beaches interspersed with rocky shorelines and cliffs.
The original village of Les Boules was established in 1952 as a small settlement in this coastal region. It was integrated into Métis-sur-Mer as an administrative sector in 2002.
The territory features geological formations from the Cambrian and Ordovician periods, containing sandstone, mudrock, and limestone that shape the local landscape.
The sector offers access to beach activities and various water-based recreation along the river shoreline, especially during summer months. Visitors should prepare for variable weather conditions typical of this exposed coastal location.
In the 1950s, three massive power transmission towers roughly 175 meters tall were built to carry electrical lines across the river. These striking structures remain distinctive landmarks in the region's landscape.
