École du Carrefour

École du Carrefour is a middle school building serving students in grades 5 through 8, located on Brownlow Avenue in Dartmouth. All classes are taught in French, with English language instruction offered as a dedicated subject.

The school joined the provincial French language education system in 1996 when Nova Scotia established its Francophone school board. This marked the beginning of organized French-language education for middle school students in the region.

The school serves as a hub for Francophone students to strengthen their French language abilities while building connections with peers in a dedicated academic environment. Daily instruction in French creates a space where language learners can develop confidence through immersion.

The school follows Nova Scotia curriculum standards with all courses taught in French and English offered as a core subject. Access to the building is restricted during school hours, and visitors should contact ahead if they wish to tour the facility.

The school is connected to more than 20 other French-language institutions across Nova Scotia through the provincial school board network. This network allows students to participate in joint programs and events with peers from schools throughout the region.
