This Canadian Army radio communications transmitter station was built in 1962 during the Cold War as part of military communications infrastructure. Operations ceased in 1994 when the facility was decommissioned.
Members of the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals, later reorganized as 701 Communications Squadron, staffed this installation and shaped how military communications operated in rural Ontario.
