Coventry Gardens, Riverside park in Windsor, Canada
Coventry Gardens is a seven-acre park along the Detroit River, with paved pathways, open spaces, and the Charles Brooks Peace Fountain installation. The grounds provide direct river views and allow visitors to experience proximity to the American shore.
The park was founded in 1931 through a land donation by Joseph L. Reaume and later expanded during a renovation project. The expansion in the 1970s shaped the grounds into their present form.
The site hosts the Windsor-Detroit International Freedom Festival, where fireworks connect communities on both sides of the international border through shared celebrations.
The grounds offer shaded areas under walnut, locust, and maple trees for protection during hot summer days. Visitors can use the open pathways to explore the water and green spaces fully.
The Charles Brooks Peace Fountain is the only international floating fountain in the world and operates during summer months. It is visible from Belle Isle in Detroit and creates a visual connection point between the two countries.
