Stadion Zürich

Stadion Zürich is a sports facility in the Escher Wyss district with contemporary architecture and seating for approximately 26,000 spectators. The venue can be quickly converted between football matches and track and field competitions to serve both sports effectively.

The stadium was first built in 1925 and has shaped the city's sports culture since then. A major redesign between 2006 and 2007 modernized the facility and prepared it for international sporting events.

The stadium serves as the home ground for FC Zurich and Grasshopper Club Zurich, drawing supporters who gather to cheer for their teams. It functions as a meeting place where the city comes together to watch major sporting events and competitions.

The stadium is easily accessible by public transportation, including Tramline 2 to Farbhof station and Bus 31 heading toward Herdernstrasse. Visitors can also use parking facilities, including an underground parking structure for added convenience.

The facility was designed so that football matches and track and field events can occur in quick succession without damaging the playing surfaces. This flexibility makes it one of the few stadiums that can support two completely different sports at the highest level.
