Wutai Shan North Terrace, Buddhist sacred site in China
Mount Wutai is a mountain range in northeastern Shanxi province, known for its five flat peaks.
It has been a preeminent site of international pilgrimage since the Tang Dynasty.
The area is home to many of China's most important monasteries and temples.
Mount Wutai is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is considered the earthly abode of Manjusri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom.
