Buji Town, Urban district in Longgang, Shenzhen, China
Buji is an urban district in the northeast section of Shenzhen, roughly 11.64 square kilometers in size, with the Buji River running through it. The area contains residential neighborhoods, commercial streets, and the well-known Dafen art village.
The area transitioned from a rural town to an urban district in 2004 through administrative reorganization. This change reflected Shenzhen's rapid expansion and the increasing need to integrate surrounding areas into the city's formal structure.
Dafen Village within this district has become a hub for art production, where local artists create paintings inspired by international masterworks. Walking through the area, you can see open studio spaces and watch craftspeople at work on their creations.
The district connects to greater Shenzhen through four metro stations and Shenzhen East railway station, making it easy to navigate. Public transportation links mean you can reach other parts of the city without difficulty.
Dafen Village has become a global center where hundreds of artists work daily producing paintings. This concentration of studios and workshops is remarkable and draws art collectors and enthusiasts from around the world.
