Altonaer Museum, History museum in Ottensen, Hamburg, Germany.
The Altonaer Museum presents exhibitions about northern German culture, maritime history, and regional development from the 18th century to modern times.
Founded in 1863 and opened to the public in 1901, the museum building was designed by architect Heinrich Reinhardt to showcase the Elbe region heritage.
The museum collection contains Danish artworks, including maritime paintings by Anton Melbye, reflecting the period when Hamburg-Altona belonged to Danish territory.
The museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00, offering wheelchair accessibility and discounted entry with the Hamburg CARD.
Seventeen authentic northern German farmers' parlors display traditional rural life, alongside the preserved 1890s Dufke country store from Altenwerder.
