The temple complex includes a main building, meditation rooms, library, and gardens spread across multiple levels connected by 73 steps and platforms.
Dr. Paul Dahlke established this Buddhist center between 1922 and 1924, making it the first Buddhist temple in Europe.
Resident monks from Sri Lanka conduct regular meditation sessions, teachings, and ceremonies, sharing authentic Theravada Buddhist traditions with visitors.
The temple welcomes visitors daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering free guided tours, meditation courses, and access to Buddhist literature.
The entrance features an elephant gate leading to eight ascending platforms, each representing one element of the Buddhist eightfold path.
