Burg Falkenberg

The castle stands on a granite hill above Falkenberg, featuring tall stone walls, multiple floors, and a drawbridge entrance system.

First documented in 1154, the castle remained unconquered through centuries until Friedrich Werner Count von der Schulenburg restored it in the 1930s.

The castle museum presents exhibits about Count von der Schulenburg's diplomatic career and resistance against the Nazi regime through four exhibition levels.

Visitors can access the castle via an old bridge or new stairs, with guided tours available on Sundays and holidays at 15:30.

The castle incorporates hand-blown Lamberts glass and Flossenbürger granite in its structure, combining medieval architecture with modern conference facilities.
