The palace complex features a three-winged structure with Dutch-influenced architecture, ornate corridors, and detailed interior decorations spanning multiple grand halls.
Construction began in 1681 as a summer residence for Princess Henriette Catharina of Orange-Nassau, wife of Prince Johann Georg II of Anhalt-Dessau.
The palace interior contains precious leather wallpapers, tiles, mirrors, and paintings, including contemporary glass art pieces by Dutch artist Bernhard Heesen.
Guided tours of the palace operate daily during peak season, allowing visitors to explore the restored rooms and witness ongoing preservation work.
The palace grounds include a 175-meter-long orangery from 1811, one of Europe's longest, which continues to house an extensive collection of citrus plants.
