Grüne Zitadelle

The Grüne Zitadelle features a pink exterior facade, curved walls, irregular windows, and vegetation integrated throughout its architectural design on Breiter Weg street.

The building opened in 2005 following two years of construction based on plans by Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser, who passed away before its completion.

The structure represents Hundertwasser's philosophy that architecture forms the third skin of humans, following natural skin and clothing, influencing their daily experiences.

The complex contains 55 apartments, a hotel, a theater, medical offices, retail spaces, and a kindergarten, serving various needs of residents and visitors.

Each window in the building has a different shape and size, while trees grow from inside apartments, integrating nature directly into the living spaces.
