Anrode, Historic estate in Mühlhausen district, Thuringia, Germany.
Anrode was a municipality in Thuringia comprising five villages: Lengefeld, Bickenriede, Dörna, Hollenbach, and Zella. The settlements occupied an area in the Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis region at an elevation of about 372 meters.
The municipality formed in 1997 by combining five separate communities into one administrative unit. In 2023, it was dissolved and its territories were redistributed to three neighboring municipalities.
The religious services in the area are divided between the Catholic parish in Bickenriede and the Protestant parish in Dörna.
The villages are accessible by car or local public transportation serving the Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis region. Visitors should note that the individual locations now belong to different administrative areas, which may affect planning.
Johann Friedrich Wender, a celebrated organ builder, came from the village of Dörna that was part of this territory. His workshop in Mühlhausen became significant in the region's instrument-building heritage.
