Burg Wanzleben

Burg Wanzleben is a fortress in the Börde region with a distinctive tower rising about 30 meters above the surrounding lowland. The complex includes multiple buildings and grounds that now function as a hotel and event venue.

The Lords of Wanzleben established and controlled this fortress from the 12th century onward as vassals of Gandersheim monastery. Financial difficulties led to its sale in 1378, marking a major shift in ownership and governance.

The castle serves as a venue for events and entertainment, hosting theatrical dinner experiences and celebrations throughout the year. These gatherings blend the building's heritage with contemporary enjoyment, giving the space an active role in local community life.
